Week 1 Blog Post

    I chose the theme of the leaves and the bright background to represent my personality and my love for tropical places. I have been an outgoing person for most of my life and do not shy away from different people or opportunities that arise. I feel as though the bright colors represent my personality of loud and bright. I have often been called a "bright light" in people's lives and someone who makes other people smile. With everything going on in the world currently, I have tried to be as uplifting as possible to those around me. 

    During my life, I have had the opportunity to travel to some amazing places and I am forever grateful my parents provided me with those trips to learn about different cultures all over the world. My favorite place in the entire world would have to be Sayulita in Mexico. I love how I feel as though in the jungle and the amazing creatures I have witnessed while there. I just went for the third time in seven years a few weeks ago and it seems as though it's becoming more and more beautiful each time I visit. 

    Sayulita is a very quiet surf town not very far from Puerto Vallarta. I love very tropical places, no matter the number of bug bites I encounter each trip. Being with my family there is great, but this past trip I was able to bring along my best friend and we had more fun than ever before. I am so grateful for the opportunities that have been provided to me by my family and they make up who I am to this day. 



    Many different social media platforms are used for personal use. The most prominent one in today's day and age would have to be TikTok. TikTok is a Chinese application that has created much controversy politically. Many social media stars have been produced from the app and they now are on to bigger and better things than what their everyday lives were. I believe that Snapchat is also a great app to use for personal use as well due to the connection you can have with friends through the app by sending photos with captions on them. 

    Snapchat was once looked at as an inappropriate app for young kids to be using but it has become one of the most famous apps in the world. It is not limited to any country and connects people across the world. Social media platforms that would be best for business use would be such platforms as Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. Instagram can look very professional in a sense with the live videos you can use and even the sleekness of the app in general. It allows for sponsored posts and even offers a business setting where you can view the engagement on your account.

    With apps such as Twitter and Facebook which have been around much longer than the previous platforms, it is very common to find people of older age on Facebook rather than Snapchat or Instagram. Facebook allows for a profile as well and is well known for its very common sponsored posts. Twitter is an app in which there are more words posted than photos or videos. Twitter also offers a business style account where you can see the audience which is interested in your business. Twitter can often get very clustered and it is very easy for people to skip over some posts if they are not easily entertained.

Week 8 Part A

 Pizza Port Brewing Company This company uses hashtags in every single post of theirs. Often times in the comments some people even comment back hashtags. They are normally the name of their business as one of them and the others are the product in which they are trying to promote in that specific post. All of their visuals are great and they do not shy away from out of the box ideas. Gregorio's Restaurant This company takes medium-grade quality photographs of what they are trying to promote. In their caption, it is a great idea to ask a question which oftentimes leads to responses from followers. I really like this method and the engagement it brings. They post often but not too much like some other companies do. Their hashtags are very basic which is good and bad but allows more people to notice them. Beach City Smoothies This business does not use any hashtags in their main caption but comments them. I find this as a very interesting tactic to use as all hashtags which they comm
